Bravo to Price Chopper for nutrition numbers
I was pleased to read in the Jan. 20 business
briefs that Price Chopper will offer NuVal, a
user-friendly nutritional rating system, at all
their stores. This is another example of how the
Golub family continues to improve our community
by investing in new initiatives.
Each year, Northeast Parent and Child Society
serves 5,000 of the neediest children and
families in the Capital Region. One of the
toughest challenges that families with limited
resources face is finding nutritious, affordable
food. This is reflected in the obesity epidemic,
particularly amongst poor children who live in
our cities.
The NuVal system will allow those in Northeast’s
care to easily weigh nutrition against price,
thereby assuring the best value for their food
budget. We applaud Price Chopper for their
leadership in this regard.
