Best Buddies New York is part of an international organization whose mission is to establish a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Through mutually enriching friendships, Best Buddies volunteers gain a greater understanding of themselves and those with disabilities. Through Best Buddies, people with intellectual and developmental disabilities secure rewarding jobs, live independently, and most importantly, make life changing friendships. Together, Best Buddies participants build a more socially inclusive world, one friendship at a time.

Best Buddies New York currently provides programs to more than 2,800 people throughout the state.
We have programs in 33 middle school, 25 high school and 9 college campuses. In addition we have more than 30 participants in our e-buddies program. This year 13,750 New York residents, including participants’ families, friends and teachers, will be positively impacted by Best Buddies programs.
